***** "Fresh Faces" by Illuminiel *****

1. Description:

This is a very simple mod that adds some playable faces and hairs. There are some female Bretons and Woodelves and 2 male Bretons. I've always enjoyed playing as Bretons and Woodelves as they require a more careful and thoughtful approach to starting the game than charging out as a Redguard tanked up on adrenaline :) Why not try playing as a healer for a change - the hand to hand skill is fun and suits these faces :)

2. Installation:

First create a backup of your save files.

Drag the folder named Data Files into your Morrowind folder - a windows message prompt will ask you if you want to overwrite files/folders in that directory - select yes.

This installs the esp file "Illy's Fresh Faces" and two new folders into your meshes and textures folders called Illy which inturn contain the subset folders called FF.

When you start your next game remember to select the Mod "Illy's Fresh Faces" from your game launcher window.

3. Playing the mod:

New faces and hair selections are available in the character generation screen. A risky alternative is to use the console key ~ and type in enableracemenu press enter this brings you back to the race selection screen to rechoose a face, hair and all other options from character generation - make a back-up of your save file before doing this - I normally only use this method if I am game testing.

4. Issues:

Unavoidable issues

a) Clothes Clipping - clipping is annoying, long and short hair clips through clothes - sigh ... in the Morrowind community we just live with it or don't use the mod. I normally select short hair for my characters, but still have to deal with clipping around the shoulders.

b) Scalp Clipping - if you use hairs from another mod such as Kateri's Oblivion Hair you may see that the hair clips through the model's scalp/skull - well the reason for this is ... head shapes come in different shapes and sizes and a hair model is essentially a wig that was sized to fit a particular head size/shape. I've included a few hairs which fit the meshes I chose for faces and have tested each one to ensure they fit as best as possible I can't help it if your favourite hairstyle from another mod doesn't fit :)

c) My Paper Doll looks weird - sorry this is a longtime known problem with the game engine being confused about which alpha (invisible) layer to show - I can't fix it maybe Hrnchamd can - try reading the official forums on Repairing the Cogs of Morrowind to find an answer or search for the Morrowind Code Patch

d) My ears look weird/wrong colour - ears are part of hair meshes - For this mod I've selected hairs which cover the ears or an ear colour that matches the skin colour - other hair meshes might not match thus making the ears look odd - sorry I have no control over that.

Unintentional issues

Modding can create unintentional GMST errors - I built this mod using a clean install of Morrowind GOTY and used Wrye's GMST Vaccine to prevent errors, I've also run TESAME over it before upoading to check and clean errors and did not see anything unusual- if anything has crept into this mod it is completely unintentional.

A safe modding practice is to create a backup of your save files first, please do this before installing this mod. If you find an error or technical issue please post the problem or PM me on the official forums at http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums Morrowind Mods and if I am still active I'll attempt to address it.

5. Credits:

For the game: Thanks Bethesda you've kept me entertained for years - your games are enormous value for money

For the CS: Wow thanks again Bethesda for enabling us to mod your world

For the meshes:

* Rhedd created the awesome head meshes - thanks Rhedd for making these available and literally changing the face of Vvardenfell :)
* Hairs are from Ren's stunning Jenova Children mod - what a superbly talented and generous modeller Ren is! Ren states in her readme that the meshes can be freely used in other mods as long as credit is given to herself and Rhedd for the original models. I have modified a couple of meshes to reduce hairclipping or removal of earrings.
* Some faces use the vampire mesh created by either Robert or Rhedd with fangs and new animations by fenrya13 - the facial animation is stunning though looks a bit odd if a non vampire character is taliking to you with fangs.
*Some faces use part of textures for foreheads and scalp created by harborgolfer from his Sapiv and Jessica Alba models
*I do not know who created the texture for the woodelf ear - but believe it came from Rhedd my apologies if anyone knows who created the texture please let me know and I'll update the readme

For the tools:	The Nifskope team - I wouldn't want to mod without Nifskope, thanks so much for an awesome tool :)

For the inspiration:
 - Harborgolfer - for creating beautiful faces with personality = those faces inspired me to mod
 - Ren - how I loved my Breton Mage - who looked gorgeous but was as weak as dishwater - thank you Ren for adding beauty to my gaming life.

For the support:
 - The forum members at Princess Stomper's site who provide both encouragement and ideas (every modder needs support :) )

For the textures: All texturing work done by Illuminiel unless otherwise stated.

6. Usage:

Use at own risk

Please do not redistribute without my permission

While my faces are free to use as you wish in the morrowind world I would ask that credit be given to Rhedd, Ren and myself - if you wish to use Ren's hairs please download a copy of her Jenova's child from Planet Elder Scrolls that way you can see her work in it's orginal beauty and context.

Note: All meshes are renamed to use my naming conventions - this does not imply in anyway that I am trying to take credit for work done by others - renaming of meshes is a standard practice in the modding community - if you reuse the meshes please rename them and give credit where credits due.

If you don't like this mod delete it, if you think you can do better then please don't tell me just get on and do so as everyone else will enjoy your contribution to the moding world :)

I frequent the Official forums http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums and http://princessstomper.proboards74.com/index.cgi as Illuminiel

May you enjoy gaming and life
